Wind Mitigation Inspection in Inverness, FL

Why Inverness Homeowners Need a Wind Mitigation Inspection

Inverness is the Citrus County seat, and about half its homes were built in the 1970s and 1980s, before the statewide Florida Building Code took effect in 2002. Wind-resistant features vary from home to home, and a wind mitigation inspection documents exactly what yours has.

Florida introduced a new wind mitigation form on April 1, 2026, and some insurers may ask for an inspection on the new form even if your last report is less than five years old. Ask your insurance agent what your carrier requires and how the credits apply to your policy.
